Final DaysΒ 

So for the last couple of days of this detox, I gradually reintroduced regular foods back into my diet as what I didn’t want to happen was for me to go back to eating more regularly and starting to feel off and weight going back on quickly. 

What I have decided to do though is, for the next couple of weeks I will use the rules from this detox attempt and do it for 3 days each week, this way I can have the best of both worlds. 

This week I lost 2lbs, which is the biggest loss I have had after a couple of months of maintaining my weight. The detox worked in terms of making me feel better and I do admit I wanted to kick start my weight loss again and I did get that. So overall I would say this attempt was a success and I am eager to try it again and on a more regular basis. πŸ‘

Day 4Β 

Today was quite a tough day.. It started out well with a Nakd bar for breakfast at work. Didn’t feel too hungry, but I have decided to start re-introducing some foods gradually because what I don’t want to happen is to start eating fairly normally again and for weight to suddenly pile back on. 

With this in mind, for my tea break today I had a packet of Popchips…not hugely unhealthy, so it could have been worse! For lunch I had awesome sweet potato and red pepper soup (not my own, but if you want to check out how I make mine, check out my recipe section!) with a small cheese scone. 

I still have resisted diet coke etc, sticking to my fizzy flavoured water β˜ΊοΈπŸ‘. 

Dinner was very rushed, so I had a quarter of a thin and crispy pizza with some spaghetti hoops (what a child I sound like!). 

Today wasn’t a complete disaster, but it did incorporate some regular foods, which will also maybe help me power through the next few days, having had a taste of the stuff I’m trying to avoid, but not enough to ruin my hard work ☺️ 

Now to get some rest and prepare for tomorrow! Focused on my goal and ready to see out the week πŸ‘ boom πŸ‘ŠπŸΌ 

Day 3

Day 3
  

Woke up (fairly) bright and breezy today. I have to admit, so far I am feeling quite tired, a bit more than I expected, but maybe that’s just me adjusting to this new regime. Started my day off with a strawberry, kiwi and melon juice I made last night. This was a lot nicer than I expected β˜ΊοΈπŸ‘. I also had a peach Activia yoghurt. I know I am meant to be limiting dairy products, but this is the first thing this week I have had which contains dairy, so I haven’t done too badly on that part ☺️. I’m already looking forward to my lunch! I prepared on Sunday some spicy chicken and rice stuffed peppers 😳😳 yum!!!
Well.. The peppers were quite nice, a bit too much pepper for my liking, but the chicken and rice was very good! Definitely kept me full 😝 To help me through the afternoon again I have take a small snack pack of almonds to have with my green tea 😊. 
Dinner when I got home tonight was chicken pakora (not the healthiest, but it’s still chicken) and salad. After dinner I did another quick 3km run on the treadmill ☺️
Definitely feeling better as the days are going on and the detox is doing the trick in terms of making me feel healthier ☺️ 

Day 2 πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ

Day 2
Today started off without a run, I think I might attempt that every second day 😊 for breakfast I decided to attempt an omelette, even though I didn’t have much time. I made a 2 egg spinach omelette and had this with some hot sauce on top πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ yum!! 
Having eggs 🍳🍳 for breakfast definitely kept me fuller longer than I expected and by the time tea time at work came around, I wasn’t really hungry (although I was having cravings for something sugary). For my break I had a Savse Super Blue Smoothie – this is my favourite one. 
By lunch time πŸ• I was hungry, so my second chicken salad πŸ“ of the week went down very well. I topped this with some sweet chilli humus and hot sauce. I also had another mug of my homemade soup to fill me up. 
I went back to work more prepared this afternoon than yesterday. I was armed with my little snack bag of almonds, to sort out any hunger as the day dragged on! Luckily the little snack pack of almonds I took did the trick! I felt like I had more energy throughout the afternoon and even did a small 3km run on the treadmill πŸƒ when I got home! 
Dinner was well received again, pork stir fry 🍱 tonight and this was just what I needed! I don’t think I can get used to not having something sweet afterwards..normally I would have a kit Kat or another small chocolate biscuit after my dinner, just for something sweet, so cutting out sugar and processed foods cuts out all my sweet options for this, so I haven’t been having anything.. I think I could eventually get used to it..maybe..😝 
Sparkling flavoured water is what I have been taking small amount off to replace diet coke etc and this is doing just the job πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ I’m trying not to completely replace it as I do want to drink as little carbonated drinks as possible, so sparkling flavoured water is the next step down ☺️
Fingers crossed tomorrow will go well. I’m just taking it day by day and do feel a lot better today than I did yesterday, so long may it continue βœŒπŸ»οΈπŸ‘ŠπŸΌ 

Detox DiaryΒ 

Day 1  
Woke up and did something I haven’t done in ages, I went out on to the treadmill and did a morning run. I did a quick 3km as I didn’t want to push myself too much with a full day of work ahead of me. This will inevitably increase the more I do it and get used to doing it that early again. 
For breakfast I had a berry juice I prepared on Sunday, was pretty good to be honest! Didn’t really miss having something solid to eat ☺️
By lunch time I was slightly hungry, but nothing major. Mid morning I’d had a cup of green tea and a handful of almonds to tide me over. I then had a chicken salad and a mug of the homemade soup I prepared yesterday. 
The afternoon at work was a long one! I think indeed to sort out a healthy snack for the afternoons as I started to feel a bit flat by 3/3:30. 
Overall the first day was a bit tougher than I expected. When it comes to picking at things or possible snacks I’m at a bit of a loss, but I can figure it out as I go along. Dinner kept me full, luckily it was a big plate of pasta and veg so that perked me up a bit. 
My excitement did fade slightly, but I’m looking forward to seeing how the rest of the weeks goes ☺️ got to stick with it! 
 

Intro

  
Ok so overall in my weight loss and fitness journey I have lost a total of 29lbs, without putting on anything over that period of time. However over the past week or two I have started to feel a bit more rounded, even though I haven’t gained any, I don’t feel as slimmed down or fit as I did. 
I have to keep reminding myself I am still a lot lighter and fitter than previously. 

To try and combat the bloated and round feeling, I am going to attempt a detox week. Hopefully I will last as long as a week, but I just want to try something that will make me feel better ☺️ 

So as of Monday (haha no other day is acceptable to start a new routine, as we all know) I will be cutting out the following from my diet;

  • Sugar 
  • Caffiene 
  • Packaged products (crisps, biscuits,sweets) 

And restricting the following to minimal amounts;

  • Dairy
  • Red meat 

I will be having three healthy meals a day and two snacks. I will be using a Nutribullet to try and make some juices to help my craving for fizzy juice (I drink a fair amount of this) and eating small handfuls of nuts and dried fruit to ride me over through the day. 

Each day I will post a small thought on how I’ve done and will post any recipes I find good in the recipes section of this blog. 

Fingers crossed I can stick this out and that it will make me feel better, nothing to lose by trying!
